Developers :: ToolWorx Tool Set > Components
A brief description of the primary ToolWorx Bridge components is as follows:
TWComms
Serial communications manager used to process RS232 data coming from a serial docking
station or modem; typically used in batch terminal and mobile computing applications where real-time
radio frequency communications is either unavailable or not cost effective.
TWConnect
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) communications manager used to process data
coming from a PLC-controlled machine such as a stamping press or torque gun; typically used in
error-proofing applications where access to real-time machine data is critical.
TWMsgSrvr
Database connectivity manager used to transfer data being received from other
software (including other ToolWorx components) into any ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) compatible
database.
TWRFID Server
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) communications manager used to process data coming from RFID
antennas and tags in real-time mode. TWRFID Server™ supports all Classes and Generations of
RFID tags (including the recently adopted Gen 2). Using its built-in development environment, you
can create customized processes to read tags, interpret tag data, write back to tags, encode tags on
RFID printers, and store the data on the included Microsoft SQL database. Our RFID Server is a complete
development system that can be configured to integrate with any host system.
TWServer
Radio Frequency (RF) Telnet communications manager used to process data coming from
terminals hooked up to networks in real-time mode; typically used in RF and Ethernet hard-wired
terminal applications where instant data collection and two-way communications is important.
TWView
Data access manager used to view and edit data that has been collected from the other
software tools; typically used for administrative and audit tasks as well as data review before posting
to an enterprise system for further processing.
